Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan is a public Montessori school serving families from all eight wards through the citywide lottery. Montessori is why those families chose it.
The District built something rare: access to Montessori education without private-school tuition. It invested in a building designed around the method.
Families report that this school year brought district curricula and shorter uninterrupted Montessori work periods, without advance notice.
We ask you to intervene. Restore the Montessori work periods and materials, and stop the excessing of credentialed Montessori staff while this is worked out. Put the program back to the way it operated at the end of the 2025–26 school year.
Montessori should not be a privilege reserved for families who can pay for it. We are asking you to protect it.
