The District invested $61 million in a building designed for Montessori. Families are asking it to protect the education inside.

CHML is a public Montessori school, welcoming families from all eight wards through the citywide lottery. For families who cannot pay private tuition, it offers access to a different way of learning.

Parents report that this school year began with a shorter Montessori work period and the addition of district curricula, without advance notice to families.

We are asking DCPS to restore the Montessori work periods and materials, and protect credentialed Montessori staff while these concerns are addressed.
